The Nuclear Materials Conference will be held in Osaka, Japan, 21-25 October 2012.
The Nuclear Materials Conference Series, formed in association with the Journal of Nuclear Materials, serves as an umbrella for international meetings on nuclear materials science for fission and fusion reactors, including the nuclear fuel cycle. NuMat2012 will combine eight topic tracks in four parallel sessions, covering the topics of nuclear fuels, structural materials, and molten salts:
Topics List
- Thermodynamics and Thermophysics of Nuclear Fuel and Materials (TNF and ST2NM)
- Materials Modelling and Simulation of Nuclear Fuels (MMSNF)
- Radiation Stability of Complex Microstructures (RSCM)
- Molten Salts for Nuclear Applications (MSNA)
- Structural and Functional Materials for Fission and Fusion Reactors (SFMFR)
- Structural Materials Modeling and Simulation (SMMS)
- Post Irradiation Examination of Nuclear Fuels
- Behavior of Materials during Severe Accidents
The organisers encourage scientists involved in experimental studies as well as theoretical studies to participate, and particularly in studies aimed at the basic understanding of the properties of nuclear materials and the impact of radiation.
To promote the active participation of young researchers (under 35 years old) to the NuMat2012 conference, the organisation will be awarding prizes for the best young scientist oral and poster presentations. Originality of the work and quality of the presentation are the key criteria for these awards.
Abstract Submission Deadline: 25 May 2012
Oral and poster submissions are now invited for NuMat2012 and should be submitted using the online abstract submission system.
